I want to start out by saying THANK YOU! We, the Triad Counties Pirate Club Chapter, won the Come Back Chapter award for 2007! We were able to do this because of your support and contributions along with the hard work of the local representatives. Congratulations Triad Counties!
By now Pirate Club members should have received your 2008 Pirate Club renewal form from Greenville. I hope everyone has returned this or you are contemplating your increase. This years campaign is: "Answer The Call". Last year, we raised record amounts and we want to do it again. The goal this year is 13,000 members and $5.175 million. Our chapter’s goal this year is 233 area members and $147,000 in funds. I encourage everyone to think about increasing your pledge by 10% so we can help ECU achieve this goal. As former Chancellor Dr. Leo Jenkins once said: “Above all, I take with me the lasting commitment to answer the call of East Carolina, whenever and wherever I can serve...” I hope you all will join me and answer this call to support ECU athletics.
You should be hearing from your local representative within the next couple of weeks. Please feel free to contact them or myself if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to serving you this year.
Look in your mailbox and email in-box for information on upcoming events. This year the Armada will be stopping in Winston-Salem on Tuesday, April 22nd for the spring banquet at Pine Brook Country Club. The event will take start at 6:00 pm with a social, 6:45 pm dinner and 7:15 pm program. Please put this on your calendar. It will be a chance to mingle with other Pirate fans. Terry Holland, Skip Holtz and Mack McCarthy are scheduled to attend and speak about the upcoming year.
Also, we are working on the local golf tournament. We are trying to set a date in May. If you would like to help with the details please contact Thom Atkinson or myself. We are always looking for people to give time to make this tournament happen. It will be greatly appreciated if you would like to donate items for goodie bags, prizes or your time. This tournament is for you and to raise money for ECU athletics.
Again, I welcome you to this new website. Please pass the word along to others. You can contact us through this site. We also meet the first Monday of each month at The Green Burro. We begin with a social at 6:30 pm and business at 7:00 pm. This will give you an opportunity to meet the local representatives and help with planning events.
Thank you
GO PIRATES!!!
